Gaitscan Computerised Foot Orthotic Prescription
Gaitscan Orthotics is a computer based technology which involves sophisticated analysis of your foot biomechanics. At your initial assessment your feet and lower limbs will be assessed by a physiotherapist with the assistance of the Gaitscan Force Platform.
The Gaitscan Force Platform provides information on pressure points through foot mapping and a biomechanical overview of your lower limbs helping to assess any abnormal angulation of your feet.
The assessment will determine if custom made orthotics will benefit you. If you need orthotics MPPFG has a wide range which can be specifically modified to suit your needs for daily and sporting pursuits
The biomechanics of your feet are created by the way in which they function and move. Biomechanics can often play a role in painful conditions of the limb, including:
- Shin Splints
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Patella-Femoral Joined (Knee Cap) Pain
- Tendinopathy of the ankle, knee and hip
- Lower Back Pain
The Gait Scan system improves your therapist’s ability to determine if your foot biomechanics are contributing to your problem and if orthotics may be necessary.
